State Leadership Conference
State Leadership Conference (SLC) is a great opportunity for high school students to participate in our competitive events program among some of the best in the state. SLC also includes state officer elections and a series of informative leadership workshops for FBLA students and advisers.
If you would like to order duplicate awards from SLC, please contact Shannon Pleines at Awards Unlimited 1-800-950-3553 or spleines @ awardsunlimited.com.

Objective Testing Information
Online Objective Testing
Online objective testing is completed on the first and second day of the State Leadership Conference in person. Chapters are asked to bring their own laptops, Chromebook, or iPad for online testing of all objective tests. Objective testing will be conducted on a web browser like Chrome or Firefox. Will need to make sure the device is charged prior to entering the testing room. Minimum charging stations will be available in the testing room. There will be a charging station in the hallway.
Please utilize the practice exam both at school and from off school network to ensure access to Wi-Fi and the testing system on the selected device. No loaner devices will be available during the conference.
The URL for the testing site is http://www.techfluency.org/esess.
As the adviser, please take the sample test to make sure that your school’s network security does not block access to the test system. Do NOT assume that because your school successfully completed online testing last year that everything will work this year. Your school may have adjusted its security settings—please double check!
Log in to take the sample test using the following information. (This information will allow access only to the sample test.)
First Name: Sample
Last Name: Sample
Click Continue and then click Begin on the Business – Sample. Go through the test and make sure the page loads correctly, that answers are saved (watch for the green checkmark by the disc icon at the top of the page) and the test submits for grading.
Click “Submit for Grading” to finalize the assessment.
Note: You will receive immediate feedback on the number of correct answers for the sample test. Immediate feedback will NOT be provided for the SLC events because the students are in a competition.
Click Close Assessment to return to the E-SSES program web page. Then click “Logout” and exit the browser.
Students may also take the sample test to become familiar with the testing process if you would like them to do so. The 10 questions in the assessment will not match the content of an event. The purpose is to practice the process—not the content.
Schools will want to check with their IT department on how students will access a hotel network. In most cases, the student must sign in to the computer on the school network before they can access another network off the school campus.
Couple of procedural items to share with you.
There will be a check-in booth for objective testing inside the main doors at Younes Conference Center South. Once students have checked in for their event, they will go to the testing line/room. The student gets a testing card with instructions (attached) and they have to show the ‘completed/submitted’ screen to the facilitator when exiting.
**Students will need their name badges for testing!
Staffing: 4 for check-in, 1 facilitator (tells where to sit), 5 advisers walking around for assistance/proctoring, 1 facilitator at the exit door.
The updated objective test schedule can be found in the Objective Test Info SLC 2022 pdf. This should eliminate any conflicts with presentation schedules to objective testing.
