Officer Training
Local Chapter Officer Retreat Formats
Holding an officer retreat is an excellent leadership development strategy. The retreat allows time for team building, leadership training, and program-of-work planning. A retreat could be a one-day planning session for approximately eight hours, a day and evening program, or an overnight function.
One-Day Meeting
- Meeting held in a conference meeting room other than the school
- Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant
- Meeting with local officer team at school
- Sack lunch
- Dinner at a restaurant
- Evening social activity, such as miniature golf or movie
Overnight Retreat
- Camping at a state park
- Evening team building activities with social activity
- Program of work development the following day
- Overnight stay in cabin(s) at a state park
- Evening team building activities with social activity
- Program of work development the following day
- Lock-in at the school
- Evening team building activities combined with social activities
- Program of work development
